Athens, Greece – August 05,2022

Vitex, leading Greek paint manufacturer and General paints Group (GPG) the parent brand to premium paint brand Colourtrend and luxury paint brand Curator, both partners of Color Guild, announced a deal of brand licensing regarding VAIRO Healthcare Technology. “Adding this advanced technology to its product portfolio, GPG will further strengthen its offering of functional paints and provide consumers with a premium product with major impact.” said Rachel O’Connor, Managing Director or General Paints Group.

VAIRO is a breakthrough paint technology developed by Vitex with proven antiviral and antibacterial properties on painted surfaces. By applying a VAIRO technology paint, viruses, and bacteria – including SARS-CoV2 – are greatly reduced and their ability to be transmitted through painted surfaces is virtually nullified. This “extra barrier” for SARS-CoV2 transmission is especially important for the protection of high traffic areas e.g. hospitals, schools, aged care facilities, hotels and shopping malls.

The products based on Vairo Technology have been approved by the Irish Health Products Regulatory Authority and the Greek National Organization for Medicines that are the local competent authorities that regulates medicines and medical devices market circulation.  Moreover, they have been endorsed by the Greek Ministry of Health and approved by 80 public hospitals that are currently using the products.

“As a purpose-driven paint manufacturer, we believe it is imperative to forge synergies with our friends who can expand our vision of sharing advanced technologies and collectively contributing towards communities and society”, said Armodios Yannidis, Chief Executive Officer of Vitex SA. “We are very happy for this alliance and also excited by bringing innovation to other countries where consumers would greatly benefit with protected and healthier living spaces”
