Environmental Product Declaration throughout its life cycle

The ECO-EPD is an Environmental Product Declaration verified by an independent competent body and contributes to the formation of a complete responsible brand providing reliable and methodologically tested information for the evaluation of environmental impact. In accordance with international standards  EN 15804 & ISO 14025, the  ECO-EPD offers information for the environmental impact during their life cycle.

The results have been verified and evaluated by an independent party (PRIMUM, Aveco de Bondt) and have been reviewed and uploaded (by MRPI – The Netherlands) on the European ECO PLATFORM and the B2B ECO PORTAL, with the necessary registration number. The certification is examined annually and re-evaluated every 5 years.

ECOLOGICAL PAINTS

Specifically ecological colors meet the following criteria:

  • High hiding power and performance.
  • Minimal pollution throughout their life cycle.
  • Low levels of Volatile Organic Compounds.
  • Do not contain carcinogenic or toxic substances or heavy metals and do not carry the risk phrases on the label.
  • Provide detailed information on the label for use with the product, cleaning of tools, waste management, etc.

A+ Indoor air quality system

In the most recognized Indoor Air Quality Assessment System of French Legislation, Category A+ indicates very low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC). The quality of the air we breathe indoors, has a direct impact on our health. Adhesives, carpets, cleaners, furniture, and more, are sources of volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions that burden indoor air and our quality of life. Vitex’s complete System A+ for interior walls, wooden and metal surfaces, consists of top quality ecological products, friendly to the environment, which exceed the requirements of the French Legislation regarding the assessment of VOC emissions in the indoor air.

Cool Paint

Cool paints characterized the paints have increased values of reflectance to solar radiation and high values in infrared emittance. Help reduce surface temperatures and thus the temperatures of the interiors of buildings. Thus reducing the energy consumption required for cooling the interiors of buildings and simultaneously contributes to dealing with the phenomenon of urban heat island.

Paints suitable for toys

Based on the European standard EN 71-3, paints & varnishes are certified as safe for children’s furniture, toys and rooms. The non-migration of heavy metals is evaluated with the special tests. Paint with high resistance to frequent wet scrubbing

The resistance to frequent washing of paints is classified into 3 classes according to the European standard EN 13300/ISO 11998, based on the resistance of the color to 200 washing cycles. In Class 1 paints of the highest quality and with the greatest resistance to frequent washing are classified.

Microbiologically tested paint

Microbiologically tested are paints that have been tested for the growth of specific microbes in wet or dry paint. They are evaluated by IMSL, a private institution that offers extended counseling for microbiological issues and possibility of laboratory testing at industrial level.

LEED

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating system is an international benchmark for developing high-performance sustainable or “green” buildings. Based on proven scientific standards, LEED promotes state-of-the-art strategies that emphasize benefits for the environment, economy, health and community.

Building projects earn one or more points toward LEED® certification by meeting or exceeding each area’s technical requirements. Points add up to a final score that reflects one or four possible levels (Certified, silver, Gold or      Platinum) of certification – the more points awarded, the higher the building performance. LEED® certification applies only to building projects, not products or services. LEED compliant products can help contribute towards earning “LEED®-green building” status for a project.
