Innovative water insulating and thermoprotective, high reflective paint, based on special pure acrylic UV-crosslinking elastic resins and new technology reflecting and heat insulating micro spheres. It provides an excellent finish and exhibits great protection to temperature variations and water insulation and exceptional weather fastness, even if exposed to adverse weather conditions or pollutants in a seaside or industrial environment. The product offers energy savings due to decreased use of cooling and heating devices and simultaneously contributes to dealing with the urban heat island phenomenon and global climate change caused by global warming.
According to the official measurements carried out by the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (C.R.E.S.), this product achieves extremely low thermal conductivity coefficient λ (λsp thermo) = 0,1317 W/(m.K) (ELOT ΕΝ 12667). In addition Acrylan Thermoblock is also certified as a cool material from the University of Athens, department of Physics, due to the following properties:
Initial Total Solar Reflectance SR=0.86 (300-2500nm) (ASTM 903-96 and ASTM G 159-98)
Infrared Emittance Factor ε = 0.87 (ASTM E 408-71-2002)
Solar Reflectance Index SRI = 108 (ASTM E 1980-01)
Available in white and a wide range of light cool shades through Vitex’s Colorfull Tinting System. For this reason only high weather fastness and solar reflective colorants are utilized, whilst all the shades are chosen in that way that they all can achieve tri-stimulus value Y≥80 according to the International Commission of Illumination (C.I.E.), in order to attain the high reflecting properties.
Surfaces should be smooth, clean and dry, free from grease, dust, loose or flaking paint.
To fill any cracks or holes use Acrylic Putty.
Surfaces previously covered with water paints or distempers (lime wash or ceiling white) should be primed with Acrylan Unco Eco, Durovit or Vitosin.
New surfaces made of plaster, concrete, cement, plasterboard, etc. should be first primed with Acrylan Unco Eco or Durovit.
Stir well before use. Apply two or more coats by roller, brush or airless spray gun diluted up to 5-10% with water for the first coat and without dilution for the second one. Do not apply at temperature below 5°C, above 35°C and / or relative humidity above 70%. Avoid application when rain or frost is expected in the next 48 hours.
It is touch-dry after 2-3 hours and can be recoated after 6-8 hours. Drying time depends on weather conditions (humidity and temperature).
Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with water and if needed with soapy water or a detergent.
